Frequently Asked Questions

Navy Blue Cruises and Sea Transfers in the Cyclades, answered before you come aboard

Navy Blue runs Private Cruises, Semi-Private Cruises, Sea Transfers, and Multi-Island Cruises aboard luxury yachts across Milos and the Cyclades. This page answers the practical questions guests ask most, from booking and what to bring to safety, comfort, and life on board.

General

Do I need any prior boating experience to join a cruise?

No experience is needed. Every Navy Blue Cruise and Sea Transfer comes with a professional local crew who handle all the navigation, so you can relax, swim, and enjoy the day. The crew also look after everything on board, from refreshments to whatever you need, and they run through the plan before departure, so first-time guests feel comfortable.

How much space will we have on board?

Plenty. Our open-yachts are roomy and comfortable, with wide decks and shaded lounges. Guest numbers on each yacht are set with comfort in mind, and our shared Semi-Private Cruises stay small, so there is always room to spread out and enjoy your own space. Share your group size and we will match you to the right yacht.

Are children welcome on board?

Yes. Families are some of our most frequent guests, and our open-yachts offer shaded seating, calm swim stops, and space for children to move around safely. Let us know your group's ages when you book so the crew can plan calmer stops and keep the day easy for younger guests.

What months do you operate?

Navy Blue operates through the Milos summer season, from May to October, when the Aegean is warmest and conditions are most settled. Most days are sunny. Early and late season offer quieter waters and easier availability, while July and August are the busiest for Cruises and Sea Transfers.

Booking and Payment

How do I book a Cruise or Sea Transfer?

You can book directly with our team through the website, email, WhatsApp, or phone. Share your preferred date, group size, and the cruise or route you have in mind, and we confirm availability with a full quote. There is no travel agent involved, so you deal with Navy Blue from first message to arrival.

Is the price per person or for the whole boat?

It depends on the cruise. Private Cruises, Sea Transfers, and Multi-Island Cruises are priced for the whole yacht, so the rate covers your group rather than each guest. Semi-Private Cruises are priced per person. Every quote we send lists exactly what is included, so you know the full cost before you book.

What is your cancellation policy?

You receive a full refund for cancellations made up to 48 hours before departure. If we cancel for weather, technical issues, or another reason, you can take a full refund or reschedule to another date at no extra cost, subject to availability. Refunds reach your original payment method within 10 business days. No-shows are not refunded.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking once your Milos dates are set, especially for July and August when popular cruises fill quickly. One to three weeks ahead is wise in peak season, while May, June, September, and October allow more flexibility. Booking early in your stay also leaves room to reschedule if conditions shift.

Preparation and What to Bring

What should I wear and bring?

Pack swimwear, sun protection, a hat, and sunglasses, plus a light jacket in case it gets cool, especially early or late in the season. Wear soft-soled shoes or sandals you can slip off on deck. Fresh towels are provided on Private Cruises. Everything else, from refreshments to snorkeling gear, is already on board and ready for the day.

Where is the meeting point and how do I get there?

Your exact meeting point is confirmed 48 hours before departure. Depending on the route, you board at the marina in Adamas or Pollonia, or at Agia Kiriaki beach. Please arrive about 30 minutes before departure for all our Cruises and Sea Transfers. Our team shares clear directions with your confirmation so boarding is simple.

Can you accommodate dietary needs or allergies?

Yes. We cater to vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free, and standard preferences, and we accommodate allergies and pregnancy needs when you tell us in advance. Meals are chef-prepared with fresh local ingredients and served in stages through the day. Share any requirements when booking so the crew can plan your menu before you board.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

We provide all the food and drinks on board. Our Cruises include chef-prepared Mediterranean meals and an open bar with wine, beer, soft drinks, and refreshments served throughout the day. For a special occasion, we can also arrange extras like champagne, a birthday cake, or flowers for an anniversary, proposal, or other celebration. Just ask our team in advance.

During the Tour

Will I get seasick?

Our open-yachts are motor-powered and stable, and the captain picks routes and swim stops in the calmest water available. If you are prone to motion sickness, take medication before boarding and let the crew know, so they can seat you in a steadier spot. We keep some on board too, just in case.

Can we swim and snorkel during the cruise?

Yes, swimming is a highlight of every cruise. We pause at sheltered bays and coves where you can swim in clear water, and snorkel over the rocks and caves below, with gear provided on board. Meals are served at anchor between stops, never while swimming, so you can enjoy the water and the food at a relaxed pace.

Is there a bathroom on board?

Yes. Every yacht in our fleet has a marine toilet on board, so you are comfortable across a half-day or full-day cruise. All our vessels also have a freshwater deck shower to rinse off after a swim. Just ask your crew if you need anything during the day.

Can I tip the crew?

Tips are always welcome but never expected. Gratuities are not included in your fare, so anything you offer goes directly to the crew as a thank-you for their care during the day. If you would like to tip, cash is easiest, and your crew will appreciate it.

Our Crew and Safety

How experienced is your crew?

Every Navy Blue cruise is led by a licensed local captain, many with over a decade at sea and certifications in Life Saving and Fire Fighting, safety, and emergency response. They have handled everything from large vessels to fast open-yachts, and they know Milos, Kimolos, Poliegos, and the wider Cyclades first-hand. The crew also includes friendly hosts who speak several languages.

What safety measures are in place?

Every cruise runs with an experienced local captain, full liability insurance, and safety equipment on board. Routes are chosen around daily sea and wind conditions, and captains adjust stops in real time to keep the day smooth. Your crew briefs the group before departure so everyone knows what to expect.

What happens to my booking if the weather is bad?

Your captain watches the conditions closely and adjusts the route to sheltered bays when the wind picks up, so most cruises run as planned even on breezier days. If a day cannot go ahead safely, we reschedule it or refund you in full. We always let you know in good time.

What languages does the crew speak?

Our crews speak English, Greek, French, Spanish, and Italian. English is available on every Cruise and Sea Transfer, and the other languages are offered across the team. Tell us your preferred language when you book, and we will match you with a suitable crew where possible.
